BioEsther is kind, caring, generous, eager to help, and more than a little naive--all qualities she undoubtedly learned from Bishop Laura, her adoptive mother, who happens to be a nun. She is also competent, capable, determined, and fiercely loyal to those she cares about, but she does tend to doubt her own abilities and sometimes has a problem with taking orders.
Esther was born into the royal family of Albion, but her parents, concerned for her safety, sent her away to be raised by a nun. She grew up as an orphan, believing that her parents had been killed by vampires. Her adoptive mother ends up being killed by a vampire, too. Consequently, Esther harbors a deep hatred for vampires, who she blames for everything wrong in her life.She manages to overcome this somewhat after being partnered with Abel Nightroad, a krusnik, and later Ion Fortuna, a methuselah(vampire) and learning from them that the quest for revenge usually only hurts more innocent people and that individuals should not be judged based on pre-conceived stereotypes. And that knowledge will certainly be good for Esther to keep in mind as she takes on the leadership role and duties required by her new status as the Queen of Albion.
